Mission & Goals As indicated by President Bush's Education Initiative, the quality of English writing and language skills taught in public education institutions has deteriorated extensively over the past 50 years. This problem is due to several factors, one factor being the lack of both enthusiasm and preparation on the part of most of the present teachers. The Internet WritingLab helps to provide a writing aids solution to this problem. The Internet WritingLab provides software that analyses written material and generates various scores, statistics, and reports detailing its findings. These flag based reports detail many problems, from simple spelling and homonym errors to the more complex errors of grammar, punctuation, and syntax. Computer based scores in these and other linguistic areas are provided.
